RIP Edie

Filed under: Uncategorized — kaleyalton @ 10:26 pm

Well, if you listened to my podcast from last week you are aware that Edie Britt (aka Nicollette Sheridan) had been involved in a tragic car crash/electrocution on the last episode of Desperate Housewives.

Ladies and Gentlemen…….I am sorry to break the news to you…….Edie is dead.

She died on the street as a crowd of people gathered around her (just the way she would’ve like it 🙂 after her car accident. After her death, the other housewives and Mrs. McClusky take a trip to visit Edie’s son Travers to break the news of his mothers death. Along with the urn, their car trip is composed of stories of Edie and the unknown acts of kindness and support that she had shown each woman that were not publicly known. Susan told of how she met Edie and how she was the first one to break the news that her husband was having an affair. Lynette told of Edie’s incredible kindness when she took her to chemo and Gabby’s was about the two of them going clubbing together. Bree told of how Edie visited Orson while he was in jail and Mrs. McClusky told of how much Edie truly loved her son and wanted the best for him.

At the end of the episode the housewives are trying to figure out where to dump Edie’s ashes and they end up scattering them along Wisteria Lane in each of their yards. They go around and each say a word to describe Edie: sexy, beautiful, strong, one-of-a-kind.

So, thank you Edie for being the promiscuous housewife, the husband stealer, and the blonde bombshell. Goodbye Edie. We will miss you.

P.S. I can’t help but wonder now that Edie is gone, what will happen to Dave Williams (her husband) since she was the only one who knew of his attempted murder scheme….guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

If you saw Jillian get rejected by Jason during the last season of The Bachelor, you will be seeing her again back on tv really soon because she has been chosen as the new Bachelorette. Jillian (Jill) Harris made it to the final 3 in a quest to find love with Jason Mesnick, but was let go after Jason decided they were better suited as friends. Jillian made it all the way to New Zealand, completely in love with Jason, when he didn’t give her a rose and said there wasn’t enough passion in their relationship. Soon after the show was over, she was approached about becoming the next Bachelorette.

America loves Housewives

The newest addition to Bravo and the “Real Housewives” series is centered in New Jersey! Apparently the Housewives of Orange County, New York, and Atlanta have really great ratings, because Bravo has decided to being the series to yet another city. I’m sure this new season, which airs on May 12th at 11pm, is going to be full of the same promiscuous behavior found in the other shows. The new series is centered around 5 women, all of whom are either married or looking for love in New Jersey and is sure to not disappoint viewers craving juicy gossip and catty fights.

MSN recently published a great article for all you Grey’s Anatomy fans that goes into the secret details and hidden facts about the show. The article addresses all the popular questions such as where the show is filmed, what kinds of special effects/props they use, and what ADR is. This article even has a couple of videos with interviews of people who are on the show or work behind the camera. Enjoy!

Not so private… March 21, 2009

Private Practice – a spinoff baby that was born from Greys Anatomy – is definitely one of my favorites. Much like Greys, the storylines and characters are complex and there is always exciting medical mysteries being presented and solved. Addison Montgomery, the main character of the show, works in a multi-dimensional medical clinic in the heart of the Santa Monica/Malibu area. Each doctor has a different specialty so it is always very interesting the wide array of cases they deal with.
This past week was the heart-wrenching story of a young girl dying of  a heart condition and the difficult decision that her parents and the doctors had to make concerning whether to keep her bed-ridden and connected to medication, or released from the hospital with a certainty that she will die in the next couple months. This created an ethical problem: leave her in the hospital for the rest of her life with the possibility that she may live longer, or stop the medication and let her live a practically normal life with a inevitable death fast approaching. This definitely made me think about what I would do in this situation and what the right thing to do is.
Also, Violet is continuing to battle an unwanted pregnancy as she struggles to figure out who is the father. Both men want to know and demand a paternity test in the episode, but she refuses. Considering that she is a psychologist and deals with difficult emotional situations on a daily basis, this is really baffling to me that she doesn’t have the maturity to process what is happening to her and the effect it is having on other people. I’m looking forward to what is coming next with her character…
So, if you’ve enjoyed Grey’s Anatomy, I really think you would like Private Practice!

Two Words: Bachelor Finale March 4, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — kaleyalton @ 9:15 pm

I think everyone in America has come to find out that Jason Mesnick, the current Bachelor, has made his choice this past week. But it may not be who you think it is. It has been discovered that while he originally proposed to Melissa on the show’s finale, he was still in love with the other contestant, Molly.
Since I don’t know them or the situation personally, who am I to judge? But to Molly: If he did this once to another girl, who says he won’t do the exact same thing to you? Just be careful…Good luck to the two of you.

Big Changes on Brothers & Sisters

Filed under: Uncategorized — kaleyalton @ 4:54 pm

The 2-hour special of Brothers & Sisters that aired last Sunday was one of dramatic turns and new beginnings.

The episode begins with Kitty finding out that Trish is in labor and rushes to the hospital to be by her side. As she tries to get in touch with Robert, she learns that he is formally announcing his run for Governor of California at the same time, making it nearly impossible to make the birth. A couple hours later, with Robert absent, Evan Walker McCallister, was born.

At the same time, as Robert is finishing his speech and rushing to the hospital, he collapses on the way to the car. Rushed to the hospital, Robert is having a heart attack and the doctors must fight to save his life. Little does Kitty know that while her son is being born, her husband is suffering and fighting for his life.

The drama continues as Tommy has created an elaborate scheme to kick Holly out of the company. His illegal tactics become suspicious to Holly and the episode ends with the police ransacking his home for evidence.

The intensity of this episode had me captured from the moment I started watching. I loved everything about it. The acting, the situations, the sad and the heartwarming moments, they were all great. There were some amazing character developments revealed in this episode. Justin, Ryan Lafferty, and Tommy all will be distinctly different from now on. I was so glad they made it a 2-hour special, because I really don’t think I could have waited another week to see the second part!

Now is the perfect time to start watching this awesome show (hint, hint 😉 if you haven’t been.

Desperate Times February 17, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — kaleyalton @ 8:09 pm

This week’s Desperate Housewives definitely did not disappoint with its moral dilemmas and references to economic woes. Wisteria Lane was definitely as dramatic as ever with its suspicious characters (Dave!) and good ol’ catfights (Susan vs. Katherine).

ABC definitely wanted to relate to the audience, so this episode really focused on financial troubles, a concept definitely not new to their American viewers. Lynette and Tom are close to losing their restaurant, Susan has to get a teaching job so they can afford for MJ to go to a good school, and Gabrielle is faced with the reality of not getting a hefty bonus check.

I have one word that will send chills down your back: Dave. Who is this guy?! He obviously has major problems, but what is his obsession with Mike and now Katherine is downright scary! I am truly puzzled about what this mysterious camping trip is all about. I guess we’ll have to wait until next week so see what it’s all about…

Here’s a complete recap of the episode if you happened to miss it
